More on Prague - By Brian

Finally getting back to some more thoughts on Prague. This was my third time to the Prague and the Czech Rep. When I first visited in 1997 it was only 7 years after the end of communisium. At the time it felt exotic and as though you were off the beaten path. Fortunately and unfortunately it has been discovered. It is very easy to get around, many things are in english and their is clear evidence that the the Czech government (the Castle aside) is welcoming tourists. Whether the government's doing is through cause or effect, tourism accounts for an astounding 60% of the economy in Prague.

A tsunami of tourists aside, Prague is still an amazing place and should be on your travel list. My advice would be to visit in the low season. If you don't mind the cold, and dress accordingly, winter in Prague is beautiful. It snowed two of the days we were there and it really added to the magic and mystic of this gothic city.
